Shipping clearly is a vital aspect of any business that produces goods as opposed to providing services. Most top models of semi-automatic strapping machines are portable, allowing them to quickly be moved from one facility location to another where there’s product-strapping work to be done. The polypropylene strapping used by these machines is especially effective because it protects products by absorbing shock during truck loading and unloading. Additionally, two small but very efficient pieces of shipping-related equipment are edge protectors and pallet pullers. Edge protectors are placed on the bottom corners of palletized loads and work to stabilize the loads and protect boxes from damage that can be caused by strap cutting.
In additional to the various types of strapping, another often-used and highly effective type of protective shipping material is
stretch wrap. A type of plastic wrapping that is highly durable,
stretch wrap is very resistant to puncturing and is designed to not allow water to penetrate it.
Stretch wrap both organizes and protects products that have been loaded onto pallets and is efficient with conventionally sized as well as oddly sized loads. It seals the loads to the pallets, helping to prevent product movement during shipping. In addition, stretch wrap helps to keep dust and moisture away from products.
